The Typhoon is Gone. PSYCH!

We got hit by a small part of a typhoon this last week, which completely oofed us. It just rained and rained, with some super sketchy winds, but nothing super serious. It went and it passed. But then we received the news that a new one developed and is heading this way and the other one is circling around to come and get round 2 in. So later this week we might get oofed. We are also out of umbrellas because the last typhoon already broke 2 of them. We also have 6 Elders living in our apartment right now which doesn't make the situation any better. But I survived the typhoon in Iriga last year! So come at me, Daet!

Speaking of Elders we just had two new Elders move into our apartment! The new Elders in our District are Elder Orbillio and Elder Madamba, who our both Filipino. We rearranged our area a little bit, and they went off! They're doing good so far, and have a ton of help from members, and they received a hearty welcome into the Daet 2nd Ward! The Zone Leaders have to find a new apartment though, which they haven't done yet. So there sleeping downstairs on the floor while they look. There not enjoying it. Neither are we, it's way too crowded now.

This week, we actually did pretty good as far as work goes. We managed to get to everybody we needed to get to this week, and we got a ton of new people. And we have a couple who are making some good progress. The typhoon made it a little difficult, but nevertheless we got to who we needed to and we preached the gospel. We ended up soaking wet in the process though, which was not as cool.

We also had interviews with the mission president this last week, and let me tell you how cool Pres. Lee is. Just kidding, that rant's too long, but basta! He's cool. He's been going around the different stakes and helping the missionaries get more in sync with the Ward Council. We talked about the problem with LA's that we have here. He gave me some really good wisdom.

Well that's it for this week, hopefully we don't get killed this next week. If you get another email next week, it means I didn't.

Isaac is a funny kid. He gets so animated when we are talking with him about the work. He happened to call last night while we were at family dinner with the Westons, so he was able to see everyone. I'm not sure he talked to anyone but his grandpa, Bekah and me. He called in the middle of FHE. We were doing James from CFM, talking about how one little verse changed the world (James 1:5) and how Joseph's First Vision helped set straight some of the doctrines we may take from granted as Latter-day Saints.

So, I guess Isaac heard part of the lesson and he shared with us how frustrating it is to try to help people understand that true doctrine has been restored to the earth. He told us of the many instances where people with pull out Revelation 22 about not adding to the Bible, so he and his companion will ask them to Google the "Bible" to find out where the Bible came from and in what order the books were added, etc. He said they confuse a lot of people who did not know that the Book of Revelation was written before some of Paul's writings and yet they were ADDED TO BIBLE. ?!? :)

They've had a lot of rain since it's typhoon season. Isaac mentioned that above. They've been put on evacuation alert in case things get dicey this coming week.

He's no longer DL. One of the new elders who moved into their apartment is the DL for his last transfer.

Isaac did tell us that this transfer cycle is a week shorter so they will transfer on Dec 18 instead of on Christmas. He said, "I can't believe I only have four more weeks in Daet! We have so much to do!" We're glad he'll be in his new area at least a week before Christmas ... at least he will have gotten to know a few people. He is pretty sure he'll be transferred because Elder Shepherd will be done training and Isaac had already been in Daet one transfer before Elder Shepherd arrived. So, I guess we'll see.

He is happy. He loves being a missionary. He is converted to the Restored gospel of Jesus Christ. He said to give everyone at home "hugs". So, here's hugs to everyone out there!

Thanks to you all for your interest and support of Isaac's mission.
