"Let's Burn All the Bibles"

That was the suggestion my companion decided to give after this week. This week was super crazy with a couple of super weird events. This week though we had a lot of people who tried to Bible bash us. We've been working on building up our teaching pool and have been going house to house just talking to people. A lot of those houses we were invited in just to see an open Bible spread on their lap, and a scary look in their eyes. I've been in situations like this many times before, but never so many in just one week. Me and my companion immediately decided the best decision after all those experiences was to gather all the Bibles we find and burn them.

We had a couple other weird things happen as well. We have one person who is progressing pretty rapidly, but he lives an hour and a half away from our apartment. So one day we visited him, and then missed the last bus on the way back. So we started to walk back until some nice teenagers on motorcycles helped us out, and got us back to Daet in 10 minutes. We booked it to say the least. It gave me temporary flashbacks to San Ramon, and Elder Shepherd thought it was awesome. We also had a tiny "flood" (that's what Elder Shepherd called it) from the insane amount of rain we've gotten this week. He enjoyed that as well.
Besides that though we visited our PBD Bro. Harris a lot this week, because his baptismal date is super close, this Saturday. So we've spent a lot of time, helping him continue to prepare. He doesn't even need us at this point. He's been solid for a while. His interview is later this week, and if all goes well, he'll be baptized this Saturday. So we're both super excited about that. His journey has been amazing, and it's been cool to be a part of that. He's made some amazing changes. And we're also teaching one of his good friends, who he is really eager to share the gospel with. "I want him to know what I know!" We were blown away.
This next week is going to get super busy, which you'll all hear about in the next email. But this week was a weird week of ups and downs but overall, still loving Daet, and this adventure. Till next week!

Isaac isn't serious about burning all the Bibles. He loves the Bible, but after having 1/2 dozen run-ins this past week with people who wanted to "bash", it left he and his comp feeling like they wished the Bible WAS translated correctly. :)

He's pretty stoked about Br. Harris' baptism this coming Saturday. They've been working with ever since Isaac got to Daet.

They have a trainer/trainee meeting this coming week in Naga and then Zone Conference. So, a busy week for them.

President Lee came to Daet to interview the missionaries this past week, too. Isaac likes him.

Not a lot to report. He is doing well and is happy. We love talking to him each week. He likes being district leader, too. He's just enjoying the work and feels like he doesn't have enough time to get to everyone he feels he needs to.

He likes his trainee, too. Said he sees a lot of growth in himself in a year's time as he watches Elder Shepherd adjust to mission life, etc.
