OHHHHH WERE HALFWAY THERE! OHHHH LIVING ON A PRAYER!
Can you guess what happened this past week? I hit my one year mark, bugga! Which was a really weird experience, because up until this point it's been counting up, and now it's a countdown, which I'm not ready for, I still have no idea what I'm doing, but I only have a year left to figure it out. It's also really strange that I entered the MTC a year ago. Been reading in my journal, and it's weird to have started reading entries from a year ago. A lot has happened in this past year, more than I could have imagined would have happened. Some good, others.... Basta! I'm still alive, and that is a blessing on its own. Needless to say though, the time is starting to run out.
Spoke with Isaac last night. It was hard to hear him, so he typed while we verbally responded. Basta! :)
Isaac is learning humility, meekness, submissiveness and charity. We told him that sometimes the WORK in mission work is learning to get along with someone that is polar opposite of you. He feels he is wasting time and not teaching people about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon enough. He has a huge sense of urgency now that his time is counting down.
He seems upbeat, though. He is excited to meet President Lee and his wife. They are on a mission tour with Elder Wotolo of the Philippines mission presidency this coming week.
This week wasn't much different from last week except for a couple things: First we had an earthquake, not here but in Manila, but we got an aftershock. We were in the middle of teaching when I noticed my BOM was shaking, and then my chair, and then it was gone. We all looked around like, "was that an earthquake?" Crazy stuff.
I had exchanges this week with my Zone Leader Elder Sifuentes. It was really fun, and we got some good lessons about Jesus Christ. We finished the night eating dinner with Bishop. Fun exchanges, and a nice break from what is now the "usual swing of things."
There is this guy, Bro Dino, who we've been teaching for about a week. I've only gone to his house when we had exchanges (for reasons that don't need to be said here). But me and Elder Halverson and Elder Sifuentes taught him a couple lessons, about Jesus Christ and his church. He told us he wanted to come, without us even giving him an invitation. Most of the time that statement leads nowhere. But yesterday he came to church! 45 minutes early! We were unlocking the gates and I turned around and was like, "What are you doing here?"(In my head, not to his face). It was super cool, and he's a really cool guy. Unfortunately he returns to Manila today, so we don't get to teach him anymore. He said though he'll go to church in Manila, and wants to share the BOM with his wife. It was really cool.
Beyond that a lot of this week has been just like last week. Not doing much. But it's ok I'm learning to love him step by step, and were improving little by little. So we'll get there eventually. We did have a quite a few people come to Church yesterday. So we have some progress. We just now need to make the most of it.
All is Well
