Strong Side; Weak Hands

I'm in Daet! It's Awesome! This is the zone that I've been waiting to go to my entire mission. I had this friend in Utah named Micheal Key (Big Mike) who I worked with the summer before I came out on the mission. He served here in the Naga Mission and was a zone leader here for the last part of his mission. When we became friends, all he did was talk about how amazing Daet Zone is. And it's true, It's an amazing place. I'm, in fact, living in the apartment he used to live in (I'm not the zone leader though, just kabahays), and seeing places that I saw in pictures before the mission. It's been cool. 

 

My new companion is Elder De Jesus and he goes home this transfer, so I'm killing another missionary on the mission. That's two now! He's a Filipino, and he doesn't really speak English, so it's a little strange to go back to pure Tagalog again. His old companion before me though was my trainer Elder Richards. So that was a little weird tie to this area. 

 

This week has been super busy though. I forgot how weird it is to come to a new area, and you have no idea where you are or where you're going, so it's been disorienting. Our teaching pool is insanely tiny here, so we've had to work on building it up this week. The work has been small though, cause a lot of things happened this week. We had two service projects this past week. One with our District where we painted some things for a school. And the second with our zone where we cut down a forest with machetes (Dark Star got some action again). But it looks like my hand went through a blender, and I slashed my leg open on tree, but it was super fun nevertheless. 

 

The ward is huge though, lots of members, and a lot of people wiling to help us out. Which was a weird transition from Iriga. The people here are great though, and there's a lot of potential. I'm excited to see how we can bring people unto Christ here. My hands are oofed, but they can still hold a Book of Mormon, and that's all you need right?
