We are THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST

Be bold, time is running out. It's been an interesting week! First of  all, yesterday, Iriga flooded, and we had to trudge home in waist deep water. It was a pretty cool experience, never want to do it again though. That water was filthy. Anyway i'll send a video later.

This week was crazy. The first part of the week was nothing but endless rain, so nobody wanted to go outside and listen about the gospel. They believe you will die if your head gets wet, it's a Filipino superstition thing. Afterwards it just got blazing hot again, so everyone including us got the worst headaches. It was a bit of a rough week, but we still did our best and "boldly" declared the truth. Kahit Tag-init at Tag-Ulan. But it was a fun week.
We have TFCed every house here in Iriga, we're to the point where we go, "who have we not talked to?" Been taking all the back roads, which has led us to some cool people. Some people we've been working with though have made some rapid progression, which has been awesome to see. Hopefully they will enter the waters of baptism.
That's it this week, been busy, and hot, and rainy. Just normal life here in the Philippines. We'll see how it goes this next week.

Isaac didn't send captions to these photos this week. I think that is Mt. Iriga in the background. I believe it's an inactive volcano.
He and Elder Fa'aloto (who is chill) are getting along great!

Going Home from Church in the Flash Flood July 2019

The thing about the weekly phone calls (which we love, btw) is that his emails are shorter each week. So I'll try to fill in where I can. He's doing well. He loves his companion. He can kinda pronounce his name now. He usually just says, "And here's my new companion, Elder...." and then Elder Fa'aloto finishes the sentence. Those that know Isaac know that he's always had a hard time pronouncing strange words. :) What kind of WEETHER are we having today? Are we having chicken BREEST for dinner?
He said that flash flood happened while they were in church on Sunday. They said the water was pretty awful and they were afraid they were going to get an STD or something. :) Funny elders.
Since the water is not potable, Mountain Dew is also the drink of choice.

We asked him about being district leader. Sounds like he's figuring it out. It's fun to hear him talk to us about how important it is to save souls instead of counting numbers. He said he heard from the Zone Leaders (who are in his district) that Pres Kirk has said that the Naga Mission is about saving souls, not counting numbers. Isaac said when he heard that, he got really excited because that is how he's felt his whole mission. So, that's good.
Overall, he's doing well. He's 10+ months in and just enjoying the experience. We love the changes that have happened in our Isaac. He was a good kid when he left, but he's just being refined and is learning to rely on the Savior in everything he does.
