"Called to Serve Him"! I don't want to die!
This week was crazy! We had a couple flash floods this week, a lot of wading through deep water. Combined with insane lightning storms, we were really scared sometimes. One time time we were wading back from a appointment and a bolt of lightning struck the rice field next to us. Elder Fa'aloto got really scared and did not want to continue. So I grabbed him by the shoulders and started yelling, "CALLED TO SERVE HIM...", while the lightning continued to flash around us. It was good memory, but not while it was happening. We made it though, didn't die.
So despite the flash floods and crazy storms, we tried our best to teach people this week, though the proselyting efforts this week were a little rough. Have you ever seen a busy street clear in two seconds the moment you enter? It's an interesting experience. A lot of rejections this week. That's just how missionary work goes right? We did find a couple of super cool people though, which we hope will progress in the following weeks. And the one family we are teaching is still on track, which is still awesome.
We had interviews this last week with President Kirk. He is a really cool, spiritual guy, and will do great as our mission President. While we were waiting we got to talk to Sister Kirk and her adjustment to the Philippines. She is fantastic as well. They are an amazing team.
That's it this week! Hopefully we will have some more success this next week as far as people go. Pray for us! Those elect are out there! We just need to find them. Till next week!
All is Well

1-2. Your guy Elder Bills 3-4. My Fearless companion
Isaac is in good spirits. I love these photos; we love that he is understanding that mission work is hard, but can also be fun and joyful. He is having a super time serving with Elder Fa'aloto.
We asked him how begin district leader is going. This past week their focus was on loving your companion. Isaac and Elder Fa'aloto have been making up songs (Elder F beatboxes and Isaac says he raps. :) ). Anyway, they'll make up songs as they are contacting people, wading through flash floods or even as a way to laugh about hard things that happen ... like when an entire street clears out because they see the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS missionaries coming their way. So, Isaac asked all the companionships in the district to make up a "jingle" that they could sing together during their week. He said it was a good time.
We love the growth in this kid. He loves the Gospel and can't understand why people don't want to hear the message of the Restoration. We think he thinks it's a Filipino thing, but Bekah and I are quick to reassure him that it's an American and Chilean thing, too. Change doesn't come easy to most people, even if they know it's true or good for them.
He was excited to hear that his cousin, Tristan, just arrived home from Florida from his mission. Think he was a little bummed that he'll miss the family reunion this coming weekend, but he knows he is where he's supposed to be.
He loves his new MP. They didn't get to talk to him very long. They were the last companionship in Iriga to be interviewed, so Isaac said by the time it was their turn, they were 2 hours behind schedule, but it said the time Pres Kirk DID spend with them was good.
Sundays have really become a highlight each week as we get to talk to this boy of ours. We're fast approaching the 11-month mark! Woo hoo!
