Endure to the End

Thanks President, that was the only advice I got for a really big problem, but it's a story for a different time. We did have interviews with President this last week, thought. All the Sisters took 30+ minutes. Mine took 2. That's how it works with Elders. Such is life (I say that way too much).

Anyway busy week! We have a ton of people to teach right now, because we've been working recently on expanding our teaching pool. We have some really cool families we've been seeing, and they all came to church to! So progress! Besides that, just doing a lot of finding, and talking to a ton of people. We've got to meet some really cool people though.
We had to go in early yesterday and aren't allowed to proselyte today because we basically have a purge right now. It's election day at apparently a lot of people get killed on this day. Still better than terrorists, but shifty nevertheless. Sana we won't die.
That's it for this week! I called my parents earlier to wish my Mom a happy mother's day. Everyone give a shoutout to all the great moms out there! Anyway till next week remember
All is Well

Note from Shawn:
Isaac called last night for Mother's Day. He talked with us and then with Phebe and Sadie and then called us back for a total of about 2 hours. When you have a companion that won't talk to you, I think he has to talk to someone or he'll explode. His mission president was sympathetic, but transfers are in two weeks, so he told Isaac to endure to the end. :)
He is learning American Sign Language a little since they have some deaf people that are somewhat interested in the Gospel, so he was showing off some of his sign language skills. They learn ASL since Tagalog doesn't have a sign language. Isaac joked that he likes teaching the deaf people because it's all in English. :)
Elections there are crazy, he said. Lots of yelling, riots and drunkenness, so they have to be off the streets by 6pm each night for part of this week.
He called the 2nd time to say that he was able get his USU deferment extended til Spring 2021. He had deferred it to Summer 2019, so that wasn't going to work. It's been kinda a hassle to get this figured out, but he thinks he got it done.
They are teaching some good families and have some PBDs scheduled for June. He still likes Iriga.
He's happy and learning a lot of about the attributes of charity, longsuffering and patience. He goes on exchanges with the Zone Leaders twice/transfer and looks forward to those days.
He was also able to lead out in his area this last week. He said he did ok. :) We think he's doing better than he thinks he is. He keeps having to fight for English words when he talks to us. That's a good sign, right?
