Crazy Week
Holy cow! It's been a crazy week! So much has happened, and I am really tired (I'm always tired, but now it's a new level of tired). So let's get into it.
First off I'm really sick, but not enough that we haven't stopped working. But Elder Nalbog got sick earlier this week though. Then he got better. Then I got sick. Such is mission life. If your companion gets sick, prepare yourself cause you are too. Such is life here.
We had our Zone Conference this week though. We had it in Naga with the Naga and Cannaman Zones. There were a lot of changes to our zone this last transfer so it was cool to see who is in Iriga Zone now. At the Zone Conference I saw Elder Cotton (batchmate siya) who is in my Zone now. I also saw Elder Strong (Manila MTC kasama), and Elder Moore (batchmate din siya). They are both office elders now which is absolutely crazy. They are both a little stressed out, but doing well with their new positions. But, yeah zone conference was cool. A little something different from the usual swing of things.
I also had exchanges this week with our Zone Leader, Elder Bautista who's also in our District. We worked in his area, while Elder Nalbog went with his companion to our area. It was great to teach people in their area though!
We had a two baptisms on Saturday. Two members from the Bolasco Family. I had the opportunity to baptism them, and let me tell you, there isn't a greater spiritual experience than that. It was amazing to see them progress in the gospel, and it was an amazing opportunity to see them make covenants with our Heavenly Father.
That's it for now, Besides that just doing the work, and doing are best, you know the missionary life. Till next week!
All is Well
Elder Bills
1. Baptism! 2. The perfect cone volcano here in the Philippines.
A little from his email to me (I had written him about my short visit to Manila and Quezon City):
I went through the pictures before I read the email, but Elder Nalbog saw his friend and was like, "Hey I know that Guy!". So that was kinda cool, such a small world we live in especially here in the Philippines. I'm glad to here that a native was driving. I trust you and your driving skills but yeah Philippines traffic is horrendous, it's the exact same here in Naga, no rules, just people doing whatever. Elder Bramble looks familiar, though I don't think I had an opportunity to talk to him. Elder Verga is an office Elder here, it's crzy that you met his brother! What a small world. Elder Vergas is a really cool guy. Yeah, Downtown Manilia is really poor. I got the opportunity to proselyte there while in the Manila MTC. I saw firsthand some of the horrendous conditions some people live in. There still awesome happy people though. It's an absolute concrete jungle up there. Glad you noticed the power lines though. That's something I forgot doesn't happen in america. But here people just string power lines wherever. You actually have to be really careful usually just because powerlines are just hanging down all of the place. Such is life here :). I really happy you like the people here. They are honestly just amazing people. Just good hearted people, with usually good intentions. I love them with all my heart. I can't wait to talk to you more about the amazing place of the Phillipines especially since you got to experience it.
