Elder, You Just Can't Do That...
Well apparently he can. This week has been interesting to say the least. I've been having to learn to adjust to Elder Caratao's methods. Which speaking of the subject he has a nasty habit of "breaking" into houses. We've done a lot of tracting this week to find more potential investigators. Elder Caratao will talk with literally everyone he sees, even if he sees that person busy in a house. He tells me, "diyan Elder" and then proceed to barge right into a house uninvited while I'm left awkwardly at the front gate. Even if the people try to hide from us, he'll just follow them into there house and next thing I know we're teaching lesson 1 even if the people clearly don't care. Rinse and repeat that for about 3 days. And like the title say's I've told him he can't just do that. But he doesn't understand English, so it didn't change anything. It's been quite a week, and are these methods always successful? No. But there more successful than the methods me and Elder Richards used, which is a little more mellow. I've met quite a few interesting people though. And I think we've broken into every house in San Ramon at this point. So it's been interesting to say the least.
Tagalog is coming along insanely. Being forced to have to speak it 24/7 actually helps a ton. I'm still about as far from fluent as you can get, but I've taken some rather big steps toward it. Also earlier in the week Elder Caratao made me on the spot teach lesson 3. I was scared to death but somehow the words just flowed, and I managed to teach it in understandable Tagalog. The Gift of Tongues is real!
We also had a community service project this week, where we cut grass. Not entirely sure why, Elder Caratao has some weird aversion to it. He's been digging up all the grass in our backyard as well.
Anyway that's all this week!
