Elder! Sira ito ulit! (It's broken again)
So I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before, but we actually have bikes here in the San Ramon area, me and Elder Richards never used them though, because they broke all the time, so it wasn't worth the hassle. Yet Elder Caratao insisted on using them despite me trying to tell him they consistently break down. He doesn't really listen to me thought, which is fine. But I ended up having to go a few miles with one pedal, which let me tell ya, that was a fun night. So this week after many, many trips to different vulcanization shops (The mechanics of the Philippines, It's really just some dudes in a bamboo hut with some wrenches), the bikes are right back where me and Elder Richards left them, missing some pedals and other parts. So it's been an interesting week.
Surprisingly though we had 3 investigators come to church. One is the Liosa Pamilya, which is cool family that contacted me and Elder Richards before he left. There is Tatay who is an inactive member, but me and Elder Caratao have been helping him come back. So that was pretty cool. We also have the Reyolo pamilya that we taught lesson one to and they prayed about our message, and they said they knew it was true! So we have a RA with them, so that's great, too!
We've also been doing a ton of more finding. We've probably knocked on every door at this point. A lot of rejection thought, but it's all good! This work was never meant to be easy. It does leave you exhausted at the end of the day though.
Elder Caratao has been teaching me how to cook Filipino food this week. I'm really bad at it, but it's the effort that counts right? Nevertheless, I can cook now, I just need to fine tune it.
Besides that not much has happened, just doing the best we can in our tiny little area of San Ramon.
All is Well
