Progress!

This week was crazy, and we finally have some progress in our area! We have a couple new investigators. One of them expressed a sincere desire to be baptized after reading the Book of Mormon, and the other is very interested in our message. So progress! We've been doing a lot of finding this week, and building up our teaching pool. It was low because we had to drop some more investigators that simply refuse to progress. That was difficult and we no longer have any of the original investigators we had when I first came here. But we have some more promising people, and new method of teaching, and we're only seeing progress from here.

Elder Richards leaves next week, which is insane that i'm almost done with my training. He's exited to get our of San Ramon, and it will be cool to see where he goes. I'll also get a new companion which will be insane.

Nothing really crazy happened this week, we had a fiesta so everyone was drunk, but we got some hecka good food so that was fun. Thought them doing screamo karaoke until 2am was not. We also had a service project in Ocampo where we planted Banana Tree's.

Well I wish everyone good luck! Hopefully i'll have better news next week. Until then

All is Well

These are the kind of photos he sends to Sadie. He can Orange Justice as good as the best of them. Glad he's still got his sense of humor. :)

I think it's ok to include the following. He sent this in an email to me (Shawn). He was kinda struggling last week with all the physical trials (no electricity, bailing water, pumping water, lots of walking, eating rice for the four-hundredth time, losing weight, feeling tired, investigators not progressing, etc.) so he was just kinda at the end of his rope, but he wrote this:

"But then I read a verse in Ether 12:6 when Moroni explains what faith is. That faith is a HOPE for things not seen. Those words pierced my soul, and the next line that says ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith. I immediately got my answer then, I revived my witness. I was commanded to have hope, and I did, and by holding onto hope, my faith blossomed and grew. I didn't receive an angel, or a voice from heaven like I wanted. But those words from a man who has been dead for thousands of years, changed my entire perspective. I now know for a certainty that Heavenly Father knows me, he's there, and he loves me. I ca't explain it, but he's there.
... Despite all the hardships, I wouldn't give up a single second of this amazing adventure. Love ya! And remember, as long as we have the lord... All is Well!"
