MTC Day!

Isaac gave a fantastic talk centering on the Savior and his Atonement in the Bountiful 54th Ward at 9am on Sunday, 9 September. We had "brunch" food at our home after sacrament meeting for family and Isaac's closest friends. It was a beautiful day.

On Tuesday evening the 11th, President Lake, Child and Gibbons and Bishop George all came to our home to set Isaac apart. It was a sweet blessing where Isaac was blessed to have patience and perspective. It was a blessing to us to have our stake presidency in our home for a few minutes that evening.

The day finally arrived! We kept asking Isaac if he was nervous. "No, just excited," he'd say. Isaac has always been kinda missionary-minded and is an extremely dedicated and loyal individual to whatever or whomever he is passionate about. So, the day had finally arrived and 12:30 couldn't come fast enough. We left Bountiful around 10. He packed himself! We went to a small burger joint in Provo called CHOM. We all loved it and we were the only customers in the store at nearly 11. So, his last supper before mission life was burger, fries and a shake! All very American.

Afterward, we walked around the Provo City Center Temple and then the Provo Temple where we said our goodbyes. A few soon-to-be missionaries and their families were also milling around, waiting for their "MTC time" to arrive.

At about 12:25, we drove down to the MTC. They put a blue Post-it Note on our vehicle (signifying ELDER) and asked us to drive down into the new underground parking under the new part of the MTC. Isaac's "host" elder came to our Bekah's door and asked if we wanted to take pictures, etc. We just had, so we left the kids in the car while Bekah and I helped Isaac out with getting his luggage out of the back of the Armada.

Missionaries lined the parking garage, all waiting to be 'host' to a greenie missionary. Isaac saw Caleb Schwartz from Arkansas standing in the crowd of 'hosts' and was excited to see an old face. Bekah and I gave him one last hug and off he went... off to be a missionary.
