First REAL Email from the MTC (Day 3)
Kumsta Everyone!
The MTC is absolutely crazy! I've already been here two days and already had so much information given to me, so many words to learn in Tagalog, and I've been drinking what probably is a very unhealthy amount of chocolate milk.
First day was crazy, I was dropped off, shown my dorm, and then whisked to a classroom where I was screamed at by a lady in Tagalog for two hours. I got to meet my companion there, his name is Elder Ruppe, and he's from North Carolina, and will be serving in the same mission as me. He's such a chill dude, and a lot of fun to be around, but let me tell you, having a companion also has it's downsides. This Elder needs to pee about every twenty minutes, and as a result you will often find me waiting outside a bathroom, patience running thin(Joklong(Tagalog for just kidding), it's not that bad, but he does have to pee an insane amount of times during the day.)
I also have two roommates who are also going to Naga, Elder Johnson and Elder Neilson, there both really cool, and we have a lot of fun when we hang out at night in our dorms. They went to the temple today with me and Elder Ruppe, which was also cool, the Provo Temple is absolutely beautiful.
Besides that the last two day's have been nothing but learning the language and lots and lots of devotionals. My district is all really cool though, we all have blast together trying to learn Tagalog.
Besides that not much else has happened, but I'm exited to be here and it's amazing to be so focused on the gospel all day. I honestly thought it would be harder to transition from my life to a missionary life, but so far it's been great, and I've never felt so in-tune with the spirit.
Sincerely,
Elder Bills
I've attached some pictures below, first one is my companion, then my roommates(striking a pose), then a pic of all of us in front of the temple, all the books we have for Tagalog, and then just this really chipper guy in our district( I call him the thumbs up guy, cause that's all he does.)
