The Black Pearl

Well, can I just say how happy I am to still be in this area? We got quite a bit of work done this week, but only a couple of whack things. But for the most part, we continued to work with all of our progressing people and start trying to find some others to grow our teaching pool.

We have two baptisms coming up in the next couple of weeks. So we've focused a lot on them this week to make sure there ready. There both doing great so far, and are super excited. We were going to have one more be baptized with them, but he doesn't really want to keep commitments, so we've had to drop him recently. Hopefully he'll come around, he's a cool dude.

Valentines day this last week! Hope it was a good one for everybody back stateside. Valentines Day is not fun when your a missionary. I mean technically you have a companion, but it's a totally different situation. We actually forgot it was Valentines Day until we tried to visit some investigators, and everyone was completely wasted. That's the way to celebrate in Basud! Elder Shepherd also received a strange letter from some random girl we've never met. She just came up to us and handed him this super fancy letter. It was pretty funny, and all in English. So that was weird. Besides that just a normal, lonely Valentines Day(joke I had the companionship of the Holy Ghost, that's all you need).

We've been focused a lot on finding recently, we've had a lot of people ayaw recently, so our teaching pool shrunk a little bit. So we've been exploring some pretty whack parts of our area. One we had to take plastic tube (the black pearl) to get across this massive river. The moment we got in it, it almost sank. But we made it, and got to work in this super cool new area called Tacad. It's been a fun week, and we have a lot of people to get back to, it just depends on when we can go back to them. But that will be the focus of this next week.

We also had a mission tour this last week with Elder Bangerter of the Seventy. He was super cool, and I filled like 6 pages of notes from his meeting. One of the coolest things he did was talk about the destiny of the Philippines. That the First Presidency has said, this country will carry the gospel to Asia. We were told to buckle up, because it's about to get crazy. He also talked about receiving revelation from the proper priesthood authority, and how personal revelation works with it. Something me and my dad talked about a couple weeks back. So that was super cool. He also talked about a lot of other things, but I don't have time to go through all of them.

Well we're almost halfway through this next transfer, and already so much has happened. And it's only going up from here. Me and Elder Shepherd are still enjoying Basud, and the time we still have to work here.
