Return of the Jedi

Side note: I miss Star Wars, and I heard the new one was really good. This week was super crazy. As most of you know, I wasn't able to really email last week. We had a couple things happen, so I have quite a bit to say so buckle up.

So first, two weeks ago Elder Shepherd and I got transfer calls and found out that we will be companions for yet another transfer. We will have been companions for 6 months now, which is longer than anybody I have ever had before. We were super excited though, and gave each other the hugest fist bump afterwards. So we still have some time here in Basud, which is good because we still have some work we need to do here.
Last Sunday, though, Elder Shepherd and I came home from a long day of proselyting. We then received a call where we were told to pack up our bags and be at the office in Naga tomorrow. We were getting ETed (Emergency Transferred). Both Elder Shepherd and I looked at each other, having no clue why. So we spent the night packing and the next morning took the long bus ride to Naga.

I don't want to go into details about what happened because it's a long story. We both had interviews with President, and it turns out it was just a huge misunderstanding. So he told us to take our bags and the next day head straight back to our area and get back to work.

So we just got to spend a cool night in Naga. We slept at the zone leaders house in Naga, one of which is Elder Strong, my old Manila MTC companion. We also ate at this place called Yellow Cab, which has the closest thing here to American pizza. It was super good, but also super expensive.

The next morning we went and just headed back to our area like nothing happened which was weird. But we're more than thrilled to be back and working again in our beloved Basud. I told my Dad this earlier, but we were definitely saved by the hand of God. I'll have to give all the details on another day. But God was there every step of that experience.

From that point our work just skyrocketed. We had Bro. Harris work with us for a full day this week and we taught so many people that day. It's so easy to teach people when you have a member working with you. He also got to meet the 3 PBDs we have, all of which are still doing really good. We've also been working a lot with the long list of LAs we've obtained. It's been cool to see the light go back into their eyes, especially because a ton haven't seen missionaries in a couple years. Also we finally got appliances for our new apartment, so we've finally been able to cook food. So Basud is officially getting set up again, and slowly but surely progressing.
A lot of crazy stories happened this week, but I don't have the time or finger stamina to be able to type them all out. In short though, it was a crazy week with a ton of miracles. The fingerprints of God were all over it. We're glad to still be here in Basud though. Even more thankful for the progression.
All is Well
Elder Bills

1. The New Daet District! 2. Yellow Cab! 3. Setting up the new house 4. There's got to be someone this way right?

It was good to talk to Isaac since we didn't get to last week. Sounds like he's had an interesting week of miscommunication and misunderstanding, but he told us it's all straightened out now and things are looking up.

He and Elder Shepherd are more than thrilled to still be together. Elder Shepherd has only known Isaac as a companion in the field (they've been together since October).

They love their new apartment in Basud and there is a lot of work to be done there. Isaac is loving working with the returning members and the potential baptism dates (PBDs) in the area, too. He is so bent on making sure all these people really and truly understand the Restored gospel and that they stay active! He has said over and over, "It makes no sense to me to baptize people who are going to stop coming the very next week!"

He is happy. Can't believe we are under 7 months left on this journey.

The Yellow Cab is the American pizza place they ate at in Naga last week.

This boy has been through his fair share of trials on his mission. Rebekah and I both had hard times as missionaries, too, but Isaac seems to be encountering things we never dealt with. It's been hard to be half a world away, not being able to help him, but we are learning that the Lord is steering Isaac's path. It's interesting how each of life journeys are so different from everyone else's, right?
